Ecuadorian Development Research Lab
The Ecuadorian Development Research Lab (LIDE) is an independent and non-partisan research center that seeks to promote the formulation of social policies based on scientific evidence. Since its foundation in 2020, LIDE has been dedicated to evaluating social policies and publishing scientific articles. We foster academic collaboration with governments, NGOs, and for-profit entities that wish to develop or execute development programs with scientific rigor in Ecuador. At LIDE, we are committed to improving equality and access to opportunities for impoverished populations. Thanks to the generous contribution of national and foreign donors, LIDE develops and executes free professional training and employability programs, especially aimed at vulnerable communities in Ecuador. Thanks to the support of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Ecuador and DataCamp, in 2023, LIDE awarded 50 scholarships to low-income women from Quito and Guayaquil to study business intelligence. In 2024, LIDE awarded 25 scholarships to disadvantaged students to prepare for academic research.
