Ecuadorian Development Research Lab

The Ecuadorian Development Research Lab (LIDE) is an independent, non-partisan research center dedicated to promoting the design of social policies grounded in scientific evidence. Since its founding in 2020, LIDE has focused on evaluating social policies and publishing scientific articles. We foster academic collaboration with governments, NGOs, and for-profit organizations seeking to design or implement development programs in Ecuador with scientific rigor.

At LIDE, we are committed to advancing equality and expanding access to opportunities for impoverished populations. Thanks to the generous contributions of national and international donors, LIDE designs and delivers free professional training and employability programs, with a special focus on vulnerable communities across Ecuador. With the support of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Ecuador, DataCamp, and other partner organizations, LIDE has awarded over 200 scholarships to low-income individuals nationwide to receive training in research and data science.
