Ecuadorian Development Research Lab

The Ecuadorian Development Research Lab (LIDE) is an independent, non-partisan research center dedicated to promoting the design of public policies grounded in scientific evidence. Since its founding in 2020, LIDE has focused on evaluating public policies and publishing scientific articles. We foster academic collaboration with governments, NGOs, and private organizations seeking to design or implement development programs in Ecuador with scientific rigor.

At LIDE, we are committed to advancing equity and expanding access to opportunities for disadvantaged populations. Thanks to the generous contributions of national and international donors, LIDE designs and delivers free educational and professional development programs, with a special focus on vulnerable communities across Ecuador. We have awarded over 200 scholarships and trained more than 50 research fellows in public policy evaluation and research dissemination.
